How to clean bamboo straws?

Cleaning a bamboo drinking straw is simple and essential to maintain its hygiene and longevity. Here’s how you can do it effectively:

1.  First of all, your straw should be able to be washed twice

Similar to bamboo straws, peeled bamboo straws, reed straws, and stainless steel straws are all types of straws that can be cleaned twice and used again. These straws can be used again after cleaning, in general, as long as the straw is not broken or damaged, it can be used for a second time.

2. Prepare tools and materials for cleaning

You’ll need a small brush, such as a toothbrush or a special brush for cleaning straws, some mild detergent, such as dish soap, and hot water.

3. Inspection bamboo straw

Before cleaning, check the straw for obvious dirt or blockage. If there is a large foreign object, remove it with your hands or tools whenever possible.

4. Cleaning straw

pour an appropriate amount of dishwashing liquid into hot water and stir well to form a cleaning solution

Soak one end of the straw in a cleaning solution so that the solution can get inside the straw. Then, insert a cleaning brush through one end of the straw and gently scrub the inside. Take care to brush back and forth along the inside wall of the straw, making sure to remove all stains and residue.
After brushing the inside, scrub the outside of the straw. Make sure the whole straw is fully cleaned.

5. Irrigation straw

After cleaning, rinse the straw with water. When rinsing, make sure that the water flows sufficiently through the inside and outside of the straw to completely wash away the detergent and stains.

6. Dry straw

Finally, dry the straw with a clean towel or paper towel, or place it in a well-ventilated place to air dry.

How to clean a reed drinking straw?

Proper cleaning of reed straws is essential to ensure the hygiene, function, and service life of reed straws. The following will introduce the specific cleaning methods and steps:

1. Rinse the inside of the straw with water

Immediately after using the reed straw, it is necessary to rinse the inside of the reed straw with warm water to remove the beverage residue inside. This initial flushing helps prevent the residue from drying out and sticking to the inside surface of the straw.

2. Use a straw brush to clean the inside of the straw again

Next, prepare a solution with mild natural dish soap and warm water. Dip a thin, small, soft brush into the prepared cleaning agent, and gently insert the brush into the reed straw, moving it back and forth, making sure to thoroughly scrub the entire inside of the straw. Take special care not to leave any stubborn stains or deposits. and Rinse with water again. Finally, put it in a ventilated place to dry.

It should be noted that even after cleaning, disposable straws can be reused only a limited number of times, and may be deformed or damaged after multiple uses. In addition, if the straw has been severely damaged or cannot be thoroughly cleaned, it should be discarded in time, and choose to use a new straw.
